Description

Darlings of the International League, the Baltimore Orioles drew sizable crowds at their Waverly neighborhood venue, thus catching the attention of big league executives and gaining entry into the American League. The offered items hail from both those bush league days and the club’s inaugural season in the Junior Circuit. Includes: Vintage Pennants (2) with a 1944 orange-colored flag with black appliqué listing (23) player names from the championship roster and a 1954 pennant with a scroll-style player listing and near-perfect appliqué. Both are well-preserved with sharp corners (lower tassels have been removed from the 1954 pennant); 1954 Newspaper a vintage copy of the April 15, 1954 Home News souvenir Oriole edition previewing the Orioles' first-ever home game in the American League (notching throughout and separation about the spine); 1958 All-Star Game Stub a voucher from the 1958 Mid-Summer Classic with printed event and seating legends and an image of Memorial Stadium (left-side tear rendered upon admission).
